INTRODUCTION
Science (L, Sclentia or scire = knowledge or to know is the systemic and organized knowledge based on facts, observations and experiments. Biology is a science of living beings. The terrn Biology (Gk. Bios = life. logos= study ) was given b-v- Lemarck (France) and Treviranus (Cermany) in lg02 :rdependently. Biology has two broad branches: botanv (Gk. botane = herb or ^,Lskein == grazing) and zoology (Ck. Zoion - animal . logos = study).

Most of the words in biology have been derived from Greek and Latin languages. Hence prefix and suffix of Latin or Creek rvord gave several ternrs in biology.
